Hempstead, NY - Pitcher Carlos Martinez was named to the Preseason All-CAA team, while the Pride were picked to finish in a second place tie in the conference's North Division it was announced today. The preseason team and the order of finish were voted on by the league's head coaches.
Martinez, who missed all of last season due to injury, earned a spot on the preseason team after a 6-4 campaign with 95 strikeouts in 2024. The hard-throwing senior right-hander was a First Team All-CAA selection that season and had a 5-1 mark and a 1.24 ERA in nine CAA games.
Hofstra tied with Towson and Stony Brook for second place in the CAA's North Division. Defending CAA champion Northeastern was picked to finish atop the North Division, while Monmouth was tabbed for fifth place. UNCW earned the top spot in the South Division followed by Charleston, Campbell, Elon, William & Mary, and North Carolina A&T.
Northeastern senior outfielder Harrison Feinberg, A First Team All-American in 2025, was chosen as the CAA Preseason Player of the Year.
Hofstra opens the 2026 season at No. 4 Mississippi State on February 13.
