Hofstra Places Three At Patriot Last Chance Open

Fairfax, VA - Zach Reilley and Chase Hontz placed fourth, while Gauge Shipp finished fifth Sunday at the Patriot Last Chance Open at George Mason University. The Pride's Tommy Aiello also competed, but did not place. 

Reilley and Hontz each won their quarterfinal matches. Reilley defeated Yannis Charles at 157 pounds by a 7-3 decision, while Hontz downed George Mason's Thomas Strofka via a 9-4 decision. The pair each lost their semifinal and third place matches to place third.

Shipp rebounded from a loss in the 133-pound quarterfinals to go back through the consolation rounds with a tech fall and a decision to reach the fifth place match. There, he won by fall over Ejiro Montoya of Franklin & Marshall. 

This marked Hofstra's final competition before the EIWA Championships on March 6-7 at American University.
