Emma Falen and
Alanna Morse have been named to the Preseason All-CAA Team, announced today by the league office.
Falen was named to the Preseason All-CAA Team, and Morse was placed on the honorable mention team.
In addition, the league announced the preseason predicted order of finish, and Hofstra tied for first in the North Division with 14 points and two first-place votes. The poll and the preseason all-conference team is selected by the league's head coaches.
A senior from Folsom, California, Falen shined in her first season in a Hofstra uniform in 2025, finishing second in the CAA with 132 strikeouts in 151.2 innings pitched – also second in the conference – while going 12-10 with a 3.14 ERA. Falen ranked third in the CAA last season with 6.1 strikeouts per seven innings pitched, and she allowed a batting average of .238 to opposing batters. Falen's best performance came on May 1 against Monmouth, where he pitched the first Hofstra no-hitter since April 23, 2017 with 15 strikeouts, the most by a Hofstra pitcher since Olivia Galati against UNCW on May 4, 2012.
A senior from North Bellmore, New York, Morse earned All-CAA Second Team honors last season after a career-year, hitting .343 with 49 hits in 143 at-bats with nine doubles and a triple plus six walks, driving home 27 RBIs to recorded a .462 slugging percentage and a .373 on-base percentage. Morse recorded 13 multi-hit games in 2025, including three-hit performances against Seton Hall, Campbell, Drexel, and UNCW. Morse also went 4-4 on the basepaths, and she finished the season with a .956 fielding percentage from the shortstop position.
Hofstra and Stony Brook finished tied for first in the North Division in the preseason poll with 14 points apiece, with Stony Brook edging out the Pride with three first-place votes to Hofstra's two. Towson received 10 points to finish third, followed by Monmouth with eight points in fourth, and Drexel slotting in at fifth with four points. Reigning CAA champions Elon received 23 points and four first-place votes to top the South Division, followed by Campbell with 20 points and one first-place vote, while UNCW ranks third with 17 points, Charleston is predicted to finish fourth with 15 points and one first-place vote, North Carolina A&T received eight points to finish fifth, and Hampton rounds out the South Division in sixth with seven points.
