Hofstra SAAC Announces Dynamic 2025-26 Executive Board, Empowering Student-Athlete Leadership and Community Impact

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, in partnership with the Hofstra Department of Athletics, is excited to announce its executive board for the 2025-26 academic year. The executive board was elected by the SAAC representatives following a self-nomination and presentation from each candidate. 
 
"I am extremely proud of these nine student-athletes for taking on leadership roles within the Hofstra Student-Athlete Advisory Committee," said Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. "SAAC plays a vital role on the school, conference, and national level. I look forward to working with the executive board on behalf of their fellow student-athletes. I would also like to thank the 2024-25 executive board and team representatives for their contributions this past year."

The 2025-26 Hofstra SAAC Executive Board is as follows:

President: Chelsea Villar (softball)
Vice President: Chase Liardi (wrestling)
Secretary: Cade Jaipaul (men's track)
Fundraising Coordinator: Jurius Clark (wrestling) 
Community Service Coordinators: Clara Bal (volleyball) and Sabira Mohamed (women's tennis)
Pride Cup Coordinators: Gemma D'Orazio (softball) and Kelly Levengood (field hockey)
Equity and Wellness Coordinator: Tess Satterfield (field hockey)
Media Relations Coordinator: Jamie Cartnal (men's cross country/track)

The Hofstra SAAC Executive Board is responsible for setting all meeting agendas, as well as overseeing specific operations of SAAC including the Pride Cup competition, event coordination, and community outreach.
 
The role of SAAC on the campus of Hofstra University as well as within the Coastal Athletic Association is to: 
  • Promote student-athlete well-being - SAAC works to improve the overall experience of student-athletes, including their academic, athletic, and personal well-being.
  • Fostering a positive image - SAAC helps to promote a positive image of student-athletes on campus and within the broader community.
  • Facilitating communication - SAAC acts as a bridge between student-athletes, coaches, and administrators, ensuring open and effective communication. 
  • Community engagement - SAAC often organizes community service events and initiatives to give back to their communities. 
  • Influence on NCAA legislation - SAAC members, particularly those at the national level, have a voice in shaping NCAA legislation and policies.
