Greensboro, NC - The Hofstra men's outdoor track and field program broke multiple records on the first day of the CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship from the Marcus T. Johnson Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T.
William Thu broke Hofstra's program record in the men's 1500m trials race and
Abraham Longosiwa broke his own CAA Championship meet record in the men's 10,000m race with his first place finish.
Thu placed 12th in the 1500m with a personal best time of 3:54.65 to qualify him for the 1500m finals on Thursday at 1 p.m.
John Ortiz also competed for the Pride in the 1500m trials and finished with a time of 4:06.34 to place 21st.Â
Longosiwa finished first in the men's 10,000m finals with a time of 28:33.48, breaking his own championship meet record.
Daniel Torrillo finished the 10,000m race in 4th place with a time of 30:49.44,
Brian Beck was 9th at 31:16.63, and
Jason Kerber finished with a time of 32:00.37 to place 15th.Â
Thu returns to the track at NC A&T for the final day of the CAA Championship at 1 p.m. for the 1500m finals, while Longosiwa competes in the 5,000m race at 3:45 p.m.
