Hempstead, NY – The seven-game homestand for the Hofstra softball team comes to a close this week, with the Pride hosting a critical Coastal Athletic Association series against Charleston from Bill Edwards Stadium.

The series against the Cougars begins with a doubleheader on Friday, April 18, at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., and the series will conclude on Saturday, April 19, at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on FloCollege, and there will be live statistics for each game. These links are available on this page and the softball schedule page at GoHofstra.com.

Friday's game will also see the Pride partner with Cal's Cru for a postgame home run derby, with all proceeds going directly to Cal's Cru in support of research and awareness towards cerebral palsey.

Hofstra improved to 14-22 overall and 10-8 in conference play after going 3-1 last week with a midweek win over Saint Peter's and two wins in three games against UNCW. Chelsea Villar batted .545 for the week with six hits in 11 at-bats, including two home runs and four RBIs in the UNCW series, while Emma Falen went 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA in three appearances against the Seahawks, and Dahlia Palacio recorded five doubles and drove in nine RBIs on the week.

Picked 12th in the CAA preseason poll, Charleston is currently 22-22 and 12-6 in the CAA after sweeping Towson and winning 8-6 over Charleston Southern in a non-conference game on Tuesday. Austy Miller leads the Cougars with a .325 batting average, while Jay Wrightsman is the team's leading hitter with 41, and Sierra Paradis has driven in a team-high 22 RBIs.

Hofstra is 18-9 all-time against Charleston, and the Pride won two of three in its series last season. This marks the first time Hofstra has hosted Charleston since 2022, Adrienne Clark's first season as head coach of the Pride.
