Thu And Gordon Dominate At Hofstra Invitational

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra men's outdoor track & field team hosted Long Island University at the Kellenberg Memorial High School track for the 2025 Hofstra Invitational on Friday morning. Hofstra's William Thu and Adam Gordon won two events each, while Hofstra athletes took first place in all six events. Prior to the meet, Hofstra celebrated honored track & field seniors Adam Gordon, Alec Padron, Greg Franzetti, James Watterson, and Nayan Chatterjee.

The dual meet against LIU began with Thu taking first place in the 1500m race with a time of 4:09.60 and John Ortiz following at 4:10.55 to take second place of four runners. Thu also won the 200m dash with a time of 2:03.21, while Sameer Grewal came in third place with a time of 2:05.15. Adam Gordon took first in the 100m dash with a time of 11.94. Clocking in behind Gordon was Nayan Chatterjee in second (12.00), Steiger Devil in third (12.19), Zachary Daudelin in fourth (15.56) and James Watterson in fifth place with a time of 16.12. Cade Jaipaul won the 400m race with a time of 56.20 and Philip Park came in second place at 1:05.86. Alec Padron recorded a 200m time of 23.44 to take first and Steiger Devil came in second place at 24.19. Adam Gordon won the long jump event recording a mark of 5.55m. Greg Franzetti placed second in the long jump at 5.37m. 

The Hofstra men's outdoor track and field team are back in action on Friday, April 4, for the Stanford Invitational in California and Metropolitan Outdoor Track & Field Championship in New York.
