Zachary Daudelin has been named the Coastal Athletic Association Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his program record setting performance in the shot put event, it was announced earlier this afternoon by the conference office. Daudelin set a new men's outdoor track & field program record for the Pride on Saturday at the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic in his first collegiate meet.
The New Jersey native recorded a shot put mark of 11.02m on Saturday to break Hofstra's program record in the shot put and open the outdoor track and field season. The previous shot put record was a mark of 9.68m that was set by
James Watterson at the Metropolitan Indoor Track & Field Championships in January.
This is the third CAA weekly award honor for the Pride this season and first for
Zachary Daudelin.Â
