Bronx, NY – The Hofstra softball team dropped its midweek, non-conference clash at Fordham in a 9-1 result from Bahoshy Field in The Bronx.

The Pride sits at 1-17 overall, while Fordham improves to 8-13 with the win.

After a scoreless first inning for both sides, the Rams jumped out to a big lead with a five-run second inning. The Pride clawed a run back in the third inning with an RBI single by Anna Butler. Carmella Gallagher reached base on a one-out double to right, while Gemma D'Orazio drew a walk, and Chelsea Villar singled to load the bases. With two outs after Gallagher was thrown out at home on an infield hit, Butler drove a 1-2 pith through the left side of the infield to drive home D'Orazio and put the Pride within four of the Rams.
