Hofstra Takes on UAlbany in State Capital

Hempstead, NY – The five-game stretch of consecutive road games continues for the Hofstra women's basketball team, as the Pride travels north to the New York capital of Albany to face UAlbany on Sunday, December 21.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. against the Great Danes from Broadview Center, and the game will stream on ESPN+. The link for Sunday's video broadcast, as well as the live statistics link, is available on this page and the women's basketball schedule page on GoHofstra.com.
 
Despite erasing a double-digit fourth quarter deficit against St. John's, the Pride fell 63-60 to the Red Storm to drop to 2-7 on the season. Sandra Magolico led the Pride in scoring with 17 points on Saturday, followed by 10 points from Ema Karim. Micaela Carter paced the team with seven of its 38 rebounds against St. John's, and Magolico, Sterling, and Alarice Gooden finished with four assists apiece.
 
UAlbany are currently 9-2 on the season and are in the midst of a seven-game winning streak. The Great Danes are led in scoring by Delanie Hill and Amaya Stewart with 13.7 points per game each, and Martina Borrellas is the team's leader in rebounding with 6.5 per outing. UAlbany will travel to face Vanderbilt on Thursday before playing host on Sunday to the Pride.
 
Sunday will be the eighth all-time meeting between Hofstra and UAlbany, and the first since November 10, 2021, which was a 70-41 win for the Great Danes. Hofstra leads the all-time series, 6-1.
