Freddie Kipkosgei concluded his spectacular first collegiate cross country season earning All-America accolades at the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championships at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri.
After sitting in 16th place with just 3,000-meters to go, Kipkosgei fell back in the pack to finish in 38th-place out of the 261 competitor field with a personal best 10K time of 29:04.9. Kipkosgei finished just 31 seconds behind race winner Habtom Samuel from New Mexico.Â
Kipkosgei is one of seven freshmen to earn All-America accolades at the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championships. He is the second Hofstra runner to earn All-America honors after Alex Masai.Â
New Mexico junior Habtom Samuel won the individual championship in 28:33.9, while Wake Forest's Rocky Hansen came in second place, and Solomon Kipchoge from Washington State finished in third. Oklahoma State won the team title, while New Mexico, Iowa State, Syracuse, and Oregon rounded out the top-5 teams in the 32-team field.Â
