Hofstra Picks Up Road Win At Bloomsburg

Bloomsburg, PA - Hofstra picked up five bonus point victories Saturday night, including falls from Kyle Mosher and Matthew Waddell in a 35-12 win over Bloomsburg. The Pride moved to 5-4 on the season with the win. 

Dylan Acevedo got Hofstra started with a 17-3 major decision over Major Lewis. The Huskies (0-9) briefly took the lead with a win by fall at 133 pounds. But Justin Hoyle won by forfeit at 141 pounds to give the Pride a 10-6 lead. Noah Tapia followed with a 20-4 tech fall over Nik Voros at 149 pounds. Jurius Clark needed extra time to win his 157-pound match, prevailing 3-2 via tiebreaker.

Mosher, ranked 31st in the nation at 165 pounds by InterMat and FloWrestling, won by fall over Leo Hess in 1:55. Waddell (174 pounds) followed with a win by fall over Nick Foster in 5:33. Tied 2-2, Waddell had a huge takedown, slamming Foster into the mat to get the fall. Ross McFarland, ranked 27th by Flo, picked up the Pride's final win of the night with a dominating 17-1 tech fall over Kolby Flank at 184 pounds. McFarland had multiple near falls before the stoppage at 4:18. Bloomsburg won the final two weights by decision to account for the final score. 

Hofstra will return to action Sunday, January 26 at home against Penn. Match time at the Mack Physical Education Center is set for 12 p.m. It is Hofstra's first home match since November 16.
