Lancaster, PA - Will Conlon, wrestling unattached, placed fifth at 197 pounds, while Chase Liardi posted a 5-1 record at 133 pounds at the David Lehman Franklin & Marshall Open Friday afternoon. In addition, Noah Tapia was a quarterfinalist at 149 pounds. There was no team scoring.

Liardi, seeded sixth, opened the day with a win by fall over Colin Higgins of Millersville before dropping his second match to Raymond Lopez of American. He then rolled through the consolation bracket until reaching his match limit for the day in the Consolation Round of 4, which was recorded as a no contest against Lopez.  

Tapia was seeded sixth as well and won his first three bouts, including a tech fall (20-2) to start the day over Connor Saylor of Cleveland State, before falling in the quarters to third-seeded Kai Owens of Columbia. 

Conlon, the fourth seed at 197 pounds, did not give up a point in his first three bouts to advance to the quarterfinals. He would suffer a tech fall loss to fifth-seeded Joe Curtis of Columbia in the quarterfinals before two wins (a forfeit and a 1-0 decision) in the consolation bracket put him in the fifth-place match. Conlon took fifth place in a no contest against unseeded Steven Burrell as the Virginia wrestler had reached his match limit. Conlon was 5-1 on the day.

Hofstra returns to action January 18 when it heads back to Pennsylvania for a 6 p.m. dual match at Bloomsburg. 

Notes: 
-This was Conlon's third time placing at an open event this season following a first place finish at the Princeton Open and a sixth-place finish at the Journeyman Collegiate Classic.
-Freshman Zach Reilley (149) made his season debut and went 2-2 on the day.
-Dylan Zenion (149), Jurius Clark (157), and Nikolas Miller (197) each went 3-2 on the day.
