Hempstead, NY – With the 2024 regular season nearing its conclusion, the Hofstra softball team welcomes Hampton to Bill Edwards Stadium for the final Coastal Athletic Association series. The Pride opens the series at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26, followed by a 1 p.m. start on Saturday, April 27, before the series concludes on Sunday, April 28, at 12 p.m. All three games will be streamed live on FloSoftball, and there will be live statistics for each game as well.
Hofstra improved to 16-23 overall following a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Fordham on Wednesday, but the Pride lost two games out of three against Delaware this past weekend to sit at 12-9 coming into the series.
Becca Vaillancourt drove in four runs against the Rams and hit her ninth home run of the season, while
Aliya Catanzarita and
Chelsea Villar also tallied home runs against Fordham, and
Annabella Pisapia struck out two batters to earn the win.
Hampton is 15-30 and 6-15 entering its series against the Pride after getting swept by Elon over the weekend. Camrynn Bonner is the leading offensive player for the Pirates with 51 hits and a .347 batting average, and Taryn Bennett has seven wins and a 3.26 ERA from the circle.
Hofstra's all-time record against Hampton is 4-0 after sweeping the Pirates in Hampton, Virginia, last season.
