Box Score Towson, MD - The Hofstra women's tennis team opened conference action defeating Towson 5-2 Saturday evening. The Pride claimed the doubles point with wins from the duos of Deniz Soyer and Lea Forste-Dinell & Abigail Higgins and Dianela Rodriguez. With the win, Hofstra moved to 4-5 on the season and 1-0 in conference play, while the Tigers fell to 0-4 on the season and 0-2 in Coastal Athletic Association play. 

The Pride picked up four wins in singles play from Dianela Rodriguez, Deniz Soyer, Kaitlyn Ferguson, Abigail Higgins. At No. 2 singles, Rodriguez defeated Chandré Boshoff 6-3, 6-1, while at the No. 3 spot Soyer defeated her opponent 6-3, 6-3. Ferguson bested Olivia Rothfeld 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles slot. At No. 5 singles, Higgins earned a 7-5, 7-6 (2) victory over Lea Kosanovic of Towson. 

The Pride will be back in action on Wednesday, March 13, in Delaware to take on the Blue Hens.
