Hofstra Inks Three Recruits For 2025-26

Hempstead,NY - The Hofstra University baseball program inked three recruits during the recent signing period in November with third baseman Daniel Escalante and pitchers Nick Reese and Aidan Scott joining the Pride in September 2025. 

"We are excited to have Daniel, Nick, and Aidan join our program," said Hofstra Baseball Head Coach Frank Catalanotto. "We feel that each of these players have incredibly high ceilings and look forward to seeing them reach  their full potential at Hofstra." 

Escalante (Kingston, PA) plays at Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, where he was named the Most Improved Player as a sophomore in 2023. Last season, Escalante batted .323 with 21 RBIs, 20 runs scored, a .468 on-base percentage, and a .467 slugging percentage. 

Reese (Jefferson Township, PA) attends North Pocono High School in Covington Township, Pennsylvania. A 6-5 left-hander, Reese struck out 24 batters in 17 innings last season for the Trojans. He gave up just nine hits and held opponents to a .150 batting average. Reese also plays with the Northeast Pride.

Scott (Nassau, NY) attends Columbia High School in East Greenbush, New York. A 6-4 right-hander, he was the Blue devils Rookie of the Year as a sophomore in 2023. He helped Columbia to a New York State Championship that season, going 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA. He pitched to a 2.80 ERA as a junior last season. A member of the track team as well, Scott plays travel baseball with the Northeast Pride.
