Hofstra Blanks Campbell In CAA Opener

Hempstead, NY - Wiktoria Fronc scored her third goal in as many games and the Hofstra defense limited the Camels to one shot on goal as the Pride posted a 1-0 Coastal Athletic Association victory over Campbell Sunday at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. 

The Pride extended their winning streak to three games with the win and moved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the CAA with the victory. Campbell is 2-3-2 overall and 0-1-1 in league play. 

After a scoreless first half that saw the Pride outshoot the Camels, 7-1, Fronc would put Hofstra oin the board at the 52 minute mark. The sophomore caught Campbell keeper Jlo Varada off her line and lofted a shot from approximately 35 yards over her head for the goal. 

The Camels lone shot on goal came off the foot of Alyssa Tucker in the 69th minute, but was stopped by Pride keeper Skylar Kuzmich

Hofstra will be back in action Thursday when it hosts Drexel in a CAA match at 7 p.m.

Notes:
-The Pride is 1-1 all-time verse Campbell.
-Hofstra's three-game win streak is the longest since a nine-game streak in 2021.
-Hofstra is 19-3 all-time in CAA openers and has won seven consecutive.
-Kuzmich has 25 career shutouts.
-Hofstra is 2-0 at home in 2023.
-The Pride held a 12-3 shot advantage.
