Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Department of Athletics continues to elevate the game day experience for Pride men's and women's soccer. Over the winter, state-of-the-art turf was installed, new European style nets were put in place, and the fence was wrapped with Hofstra branding!

Now, with your help, our Hofstra soccer facility will be even more special with the anticipated addition of a brand-new video scoreboard. With a cost of approximately $250,000, this project will be funded by a dollar-for-dollar match between now and August 15, 2023, thanks to the philanthropy and leadership of the Dempster and Healy families. We are asking alumni and friends of Hofstra Soccer to make a gift of their own in support of this effort in order to make this happen.

The hope is to install a new 16' x 25' Nevco video scoreboard in the same location. It will feature a full-color LED video screen with a custom truss at the top with rear lit lettering - a state-of-the-art system that will help to continue to attract world-class soccer student-athletes to Hofstra. Both Hofstra soccer programs will enter the 2023 season as two-time defending Colonial Athletic Association champions. The University's commitment to the growth and strength of these programs has been demonstrated repeatedly – now, with your help and support, we can take it to the next level.

"It is a very exciting time for Hofstra soccer specifically and Hofstra athletics overall," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. "The Dempsters and the Healys have been generous benefactors and this match challenge will allow for more of our outstanding supporters to make an impact on our student-athletes and join in our mission of building champions."

The name recognition of our soccer programs is growing by leaps and bounds," commented Hofstra Head Men's Soccer Coach Richard Nuttall. "We are fortunate to have many incredible benefactors who will see the value of another amazing addition to our facility."

"Our combined success in women's and men's soccer is truly remarkable," mentioned Hofstra Head Women's Soccer Coach Simon Riddiough. "I am so proud of the continued advances we make in our student-athlete experience and look forward to many of our supporters getting involved in this project."

Your gift will change Hofstra Soccer! MAKE A DONATION and help make the video scoreboard dream a reality!
