Hofstra Finishes Third; Two Place In Top 10 At Hartford Hawks Invitational

Bloomfield, CT - Savannah Weyrauch tied for seventh place and Cynthia Zhao finished ninth to lead Hofstra at the Hartford Hawks Invitational at Gillette Ridge Golf Club. As a team, Hofstra finished third in the nine-team field.

Weyrauch shot rounds of 81 (+9) and 82 (+10) to finish at 163 (+19), while Zhao had back to back rounds of 82 (+10) to post a two-round 164 (+20). Claire Galante tied for 13th place in the 58-player field at 168 (+24) following rounds of 85 (+13) and 83 (+11). Dominique Jimenez tied for 23rd at 171 (+27) with rounds of 86 (+14) and 85 (+13). Sadie Anderson, playing as an individual entrant, finished 37th at 179 (+35) following rounds of 89 (+17) and 90 (+18). Maya Torpey, also playing as an individual, tied for 38th at 181 (+37) with scores of 94 (+22) and 87 (+15). Tori Bien rounded out the Hofstra contingent in 49th place with a 196 (+52) with rounds of 97 (+25) and 99 (+27).

Hofstra shot a two-round score of 666 (+90) to finish third behind Fairfield (648, +72) and Monmouth (657, +81). Quinnipiac's Emily Luu was the individual champion at 153 (+9).

Hofstra will next be in action at the Colonial Athletic Association Championship from April 14-17 at The Clubs at St. James in Southport, North Carolina.
