Williamsburg, VA - Sixth-seeded UNCW won the doubles point and all three completed singles matches to record a 4-0 victory over No. 11 Hofstra in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at the Mackesy Tennis Center at the Millie West Courts at William & Mary.

The Seahawks posted a pair of 6-0 wins in doubles to jump out to a 1-0 lead. In singles play, UNCW won at No. 2 with Eda Arli defeating Deniz Soyer in straight sets (6-3, 6-0). Lauren Gish defeated April Sanchez (6-3, 6-0) at No. 4 and Stela Joksimovic clinched the match with a win over Kaitlyn Ferguson (7-5, 6-4). 

The loss ends Hofstra's season at 2-15. UNCW (11-8) advances to play No. 3 Charleston in the quarterfinals Friday at 6 p.m.
