Oceanside, NY - Hofstra won the doubles point, but UNCW stormed back to win five of six singles flights in a 5-2 victory over the Pride Friday at Point Set Indoor Raquet Club. The Pride slipped to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in the CAA while the Seahawks improved to 8-6 overall and 1-1 in the CAA.
 
Hofstra won the doubles point behind a pair of 6-3 victories. Sabira Mohamed and Deniz Soyer defeated Brinley Bell and Zoe Huffman at No. 1, and Abigail Higgins and Ananyaa Bhargava clinched the point by defeating Stela Joksimovic and Meredith Taylor at No. 3.
 
The Pride went up by a 2-0 score after Soyer posted a 6-4, 6-4 win over Eda Arli at No. 2. Lauren Gish got the Seahawks on the board with a 7-5, 6-4 victory against Kaitlyn Ferguson at No. 4 singles and Zoe Huffman (No. 1), Anna Daniels (No. 3), and Gabbie Glickstein (No. 6) followed with victories to give UNCW the win. 
 
Hofstra is back in action Sunday when it hosts UC Irvine at Point Set Indoor at 4 p.m.
