Bronx, NY - The Hofstra women's tennis team competed against Columbia and Sacred Heart at the Fordham Duals this weekend. The event was rained out over the course of the weekend pushing the tourament to Friday and Sunday only. 

The Pride lost all of their matches against Columbia on Friday, but held strong Sunday and won 5 matches versus Sacred Heart. 

In doubles play, Lea Forste-Dinell and Deniz Soyer defeated Katsiaryna Starastsenka and Kim Fenton, 6-4. Sabira Mohamed and Ava Veneziano defeated Olivia Kharkover and Malena del Olmo, 7-6 (5). Simran Desai and Mary Madigan also defeated Sacred Heart's Olivia Furrows and Renee Sharma, 6-3. 

In singles play, Dianela Rodriguez bested Vitalina Golod 7-5, 4-6, and secured the victory 10-8 in the third. Simran Desai bested Olivia Furrows 7-5, came back from a 4-6 setback, and secured the victory 11-9.
