Hofstra Suffers First Loss Of Season At Brown

Providence, RI - Skylar Kuzmich made four saves but Brown scored two first half goals and added one in the second as the Bears posted a 3-0 win over the Pride Sunday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field.

Hofstra suffered its first loss of the season and slipped to 3-1-1. Brown improved to 4-0 on the year.

The Bears opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Miya Grant-Claavijo sent a shot past Kuzmich with Ava Seelenfreund getting the assist. Seelenfreund would tally an unassisted goal just about three minutes later to make it 2-0. Brittany Raphino made it a 3-0 game with an unassisted marker in the 61st minute.

The Bears defense put a clamp on the Pride offense, limiting Hofstra to just two shots with one on goal. Kuzmich came up big on several of her saves, stopping a pair of one-on-one opportunities for the Bears.

Hofstra will continue its three-game road swing Thursday night at Saint Joseph's. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
