Hempstead, NY - A pair of Hofstra teams were honored by the Colonial Athletic Association as the men's soccer and women's lacrosse programs received the CAA Team Academic Excellence Awards, recognizing the institution with the highest collective grade point average in all 22 sports sponsored by the CAA.

The team GPA is a calculation of the grade point average of each student-athlete who appeared on an institution's roster throughout the final day of their respective championship seasons during the 2020-21 academic year.

The men's soccer team compiled a 3.68 GPA during the 2021-22 academic year, while the women's lacrosse team had a 3.59 GPA. 

In terms of academic honors, men's soccer had 13 student-athletes named to the Hofstra Dean's List and three named to the Provost's List. Women's Lacrosse had 16 earn Dean's List recognition and six receive Provost's List honors. The two programs had a slew of honorees earn a spot on the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll as 34 women's lacrosse student-athletes and 22 men's soccer student-athletes received this award.
