Box Score Oceanside, NY – Hofstra won the doubles point but Stony Brook took five of six singles matches in a 5-2 victory over the Pride Wednesday afternoon at Point Set Indoor. Hofstra slipped to 2-9 with the loss while Stony Brook is 5-7 following the win.
The Pride jumped out to a 1-0 match lead following a pair of wins in doubles.
Mandisa Walle and
Deniz Soyer won at No. 1, 6-1, over Mathilde Sreeves and Loreto Rubio.
April Sanchez and
Katherine Kachkarov clinched the point with a 7-5 win at the third flight over Carmen Rubio and Sara Medved.
Hofstra managed just one win in singles play as
Ananyaa Bhargava defeated Carmen Rubio, 7-5, 6-4, at the fifth singles flight.
Hofstra returns to action Friday at 3 p.m. when it hosts Binghamton at 3 p.m.
