Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra softball team begins a four-game homestand as the Pride is set to host Fordham in a non-conference single game on Wednesday evening. First pitch at Bill Edwards is set for 6 p.m.

This past weekend, Hofstra earned its third-straight Colonial Athletic Association series win at James Madison, moving to 13-19 overall and 6-2 in the league. Hofstra had a big weekend from senior infielder
Meghan Giordano who was named the CAA Player of the Week after recording a .556 batting average and .692 on base percentage with two home runs and three RBI. Giordano is batting .263 for the Pride this season and is second on the team with 25 hits and 15 RBI.
Chelsea Manto continues to lead the Hofstra offense with a .359 batting average and team-high 42 hits.
Angelina Ioppolo has driven in 16 runs to pace the Pride.
Hofstra also saw a strong weekend from left-handed pitcher,
Julia Apsel this past weekend. Apsel factored into all three decisions for the Pride going 2-1, tossing 16.0 innings with a 1.31 ERA. She held the opposition to a .148 batting average and collected 11 strikeouts. Apsel leads Hofstra with a 2.83 ERA this season through 91.2 innings pitched with 59 strikeouts.
Fordham makes the trip across the Throggs Neck with a 17-15 record (7-4 A10). The Rams have played three-straight non-conference games, defeating Manhattan on April 6 before splitting a doubleheader with Kent State on April 9. Rachel Hubertus owns a team-high .317 batting average and 29 runs driven in. She also has 13 home runs on the season. On the rubber, Devon Miller has tossed a team-high 85.2 innings with a 3.02 ERA. Emilee Watkins leads the staff with a 2.63 ERA in seven appearances.
Hofstra is 10-6 all-time against Fordham. The Rams have defeated Hofstra twice in the last three meetings.
