James Madison leveled things up with one swing in the bottom of the fourth when Hallie Hall hit a two-run home run to left field. After the home run, James Madison loaded the bases but Julia Apsel fired her first strikeout of the day to get out of the inning with no further damage.

Hofstra managed just one baserunner for the remainder of the game when Giordano walked in the fifth, but the Dukes ultimately had the final word when pinch hitter Lauren Bernett homered to center field to give James Madison the victory.
