Guilford, CT - Hofstra returned to action following a nine-day break and dropped a 5-2 decision at Quinnipiac Sunday at the Guilford Racquet Club. Hofstra fell to 1-6 with the loss while the Bobcats moved to 4-7 with the win.
Quinnipiac took the doubles point with the deciding win coming at the No. 1 flight as Claire Koscielski and Brittney Wilbur picked up a 7-5 win over
Deniz Soyer and
Mandisa Walle.
Kayla Solagnier and
Ananyaa Bhargava won at No. 3, 7-5, to force the deciding flight.
Soyer won her No. 3 singles match over Dominique Vasile (6-4, 7-5) and Bhargava picked up a three-set win (6-2, 5-7, 10-8) at No. 6 over Wilbur to give the Pride their two points in the match.Â
Hofstra is back in action Friday at Towson with a 3 p.m. start time.Â
