Las Vegas, NV - Jacob Ferreira and Trey Rogers each went 3-2 Friday as the Pride completed competition at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. Overall, the Pride went 11-20 with 12 of the losses coming against nationally ranked opponents. 

Ferreira, ranked 26th at 184 pounds, won his opening round match by fall over Utah Valley's Hunter Morse (4:38) before dropping a round of 16 bout to 10th-ranked Matt Finesilver of Michigan by major decision (9-1). He then won his first two consolation bracket matches with decision victories over Ohio's Zayne Lehman (3-2) and Harvard's Leonardo Tarantino (8-2). Ferreira then suffered a loss in the consolation round of 8 #2 to sixth-ranked Trey Munoz of Oregon State (5-3). 

Rogers, ranked 25th at 197 pounds, opened the tournament with a tech fall win over Sacred Heart's Nick Copley (19-4, 3:30). He then dropped a 6-0 decision to No. 24 Jacob Koser of Navy in the round of 16. Rogers then picked up a pair of decisions in his first two rounds of consolations, defeating Calvin Sund of Air Force (8-4) and Noah Glaser of Northern Iowa (5-3), before losing a tough 8-7 decision to No. 18 Kordell Norfleet of Arizona State in the consolation round of 8 #2.

Hofstra will be back in action on Thursday, December 22 at 6 p.m. when the Pride opens their dual match and home schedule against American at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
