West Point, NY - Jacob Ferreira (184), Trey Rogers (197), and Zachary Knighton-Ward (285) each finished as runner-up in their respective weight class, and Justin Hoyle placed fifth at 141 pounds as Hofstra saw four wrestles place at the Army Black Knight Invitational Sunday. As a team, Hofstra placed seventh in the 10-team field with 60.5 points.

The 25th-ranked Ferreira, who was coming off a win at the 184-pound A Bracket at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic last week, started strong with a dominating tech fall (20-5) win over Walker Stephenson of  Army West Point in the quarterfinals. The top seed followed that with a 3-2 decision over Penn State's Donovan Ball in the semifinals. In the championship bout, 32nd-ranked and second-seeded Giuseppe Hoose of Buffalo scored an 8-4 decision to claim the weight class.   

Rogers, ranked 25th at 197, posted his second consecutive second place showing after being the runner-up at last week's Journeymen Collegiate Classic. The second seed started with a 23-8 tech fall win over Army West Point's Wolfgang Frable in 6:49 in the round of 16. Rogers then picked up an 8-6 decision over Levi Hopkins of Campbell in the quarterfinals. A 3-2 decision over Buffalo's Sam Mitchell in the semifinals sent Rogers to the championship match against top seed and No. 1 ranked Max Dean of Penn State. Dean scored a takedown 35 seconds into the match and won by fall in 1:15. 

26th-ranked Knighton-Ward, seeded second, opened up his day with a win by fal (1:33)over Columbia's Billy McChesney in the round of 16. He then scored a pair of decisions, 3-0 over Greg Hodulick (Buffalo) in the quarters and 8-4 over Chad Nix (Campbell) in the semifinals. In the championship match, 13th-ranked and top seed Taye Ghadiali of Campbell posted a 9-4 win over Knighton-Ward to win the weight. 

Hoyle won by decision over Mark Montgomery of Army West Point, 5-3, in his round of 16 match before falling to the second seed and 32nd-ranked Cayden Rooks of Indiana by fall (2:02) in the quarterfinals. He scored a pin of his own in the consolation round of eight over Indiana's Cole Rhemrev (2:44) before downing Justin Bierdumpfel of Brown, 5-3, in the consolation round of four to advance to the fifth place match. Hoyle decisioned Tyler Morris of Army West Point, 5-4, in the fifth-place match to cap off a 4-1 day. 

Hofstra's next competition will be December 2-3 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
