The Seawolves answered 7:31 later when Cote chipped a shot over Hofstra keeper Skylar Kuzmich, who had come out to challenge. Luciana Setteducate had the assist on the goal.

The Pride was the aggressors in the second half, sending 15 shots compared to three for the Seawolves. However, Stony Brook netted the lone goal as Cote sent in a carom off the crossbar on a cross from Catharina von Drigalski at 55:10. Reilly Rich was also credited with an assist on the play.
