BB: Hofstra Heads To Northeastern To Face CAA-Leading Huskies

5/6/2021 12:13:00 PM

Hempstead, NY - With the Colonial Athletic Association schedule down to its final two weeks, the Hofstra Baseball team continues its push for a playoff spot with a four-game series at North Division-leading Northeastern. The series opens Friday at 2 p.m. and continues with a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m., before concluding Sunday at 1 p.m.

Hofstra (15-15, 6-9 CAA) enters the weekend off a 3-1 series win over Delaware this past weekend. The Pride rallied in game one against the Blue Hens, scoring nine runs in the seventh inning to post a 14-11 victory. Jimmy Joyce was dominant in game two, striking out 12 over six scoreless innings in a 9-0 victory. In game three, Tristan Nemjo and Brad Camarda provided shutdown relief as the Pride held on for an 8-7 win. Delaware would avoid the sweep Sunday, posting a 22-8 victory.

Northeastern (23-6, 11-0 CAA) is the hottest team in the nation with a 13-game winning streak. The Huskies, who are ranked 38th in the NCAA RPI, are coming off a sweep at home against Towson and are 17-2 at Friedman Diamond this season.

The Huskies took three games from Hofstra in Hempstead earlier this season with the fourth game rained out. That contest will be made up Wednesday, May 12 at 3 p.m. at University Field.

All four games of the series will be live streamed on FloBaseball. Friday's game will also be available on NESN+. Live statistics will also be available. Links for video and statistics can be found above or on the baseball schedule page on Go Hofstra.com.
