Box Score Bethpage, NY - East Carolina defeated Hofstra Saturday night, 4-0, at Sportime in Bethpage, New York. The match was stopped after the Pirates clinched the win with three singles matches in progress. A doubles match was also not completed after ECU clinched that point.

Hofstra slipped to 2-2 on the season while East Carolina improved to 5-1.

Diogo Marques and Federico Masetti defeated Hofstra's Shawn Jackson and Ostap Kovalenko, 6-1, at No. 3 doubles to open the match. Javier Renones and Wisse Jonker followed with a 6-2 victory over Jonathan Mahrt Guyou at No. 2 to take the doubles point.

The Pirates went ahead 2-0 after Masetti defeated Mahrt Guyou (6-4, 6-2) at No. 6 singles. Jonker picked up a win over Yusuke Nishitani (6-2, 6-0) at No. 5 to make it 3-0 in favor of East Carolina. Simon Labbe won the match for the Pirates with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) win over Kovalenko at No. 3. 

Hofstra returns to action Saturday, February 15 versus Connecticut. Match time at Sportime in Bethpage is set for 12 p.m.
