Hempstead, NY - Sarah Catherine Herndon posted Hofstra's lone singles win and the team of Alejandra Ruffini and Katherine Kachkarov won at third doubles, but UNCW picked up a 6-1 victory Sunday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center.

The Seahawks (8-10, 1-0 CAA) took the doubles point with wins at the top two flights. Ruffini and Kachkarov did pickup a 6-4 victory over Lea Dubois-Rebiere and Rishika Ravindran.

UNCW won five of six singles flights including three in three sets. Herndon prevented the UNCW sweep by winning at No. 4 over Dubois-Rebiere, 6-1, 6-4.

Hofstra (11-9, 0-3 CAA) is back in action Tuesday when it hosts Stony Brook at 3 p.m.
