Burlington, NC - The Hofstra University Men's Tennis team saw its 2018-19 season come to an end Thursday with a 4-0 loss to second-seeded Elon at the Burlington Tennis Center.
 
The seventh-seeded Pride finish the season with a 13-8 record while Elon moves on to the semifinals with a 19-4 record.
 
The Phoenix took the doubles point as Dino Bonetta and Taylor Foote posted a 6-0 win at No. 3 over Ryan Hardin and Giacomo Pezzoli, and Felipe Sarrasague and Mario Paccini defeated Coco Haener and Shawn Jackson, 6-3, at No. 1.
 
Elon kept things going in singles as Camilo Ponce downed Julien Wolfe (6-2, 6-2) at No. 5; Foote defeated Pezzoli (6-3, 6-2) at No. 6; and Kyle Frankel closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 over Jan Leithner.
 
The Pride's 13 wins was one shy of the program record for wins.
