THE FIRST LOOK
The Hofstra softball team is set to get back on the road, but for a short trip to the Bronx as the Pride (18-20, 5-7 CAA) will meet Fordham (18-20, 11-3 A10) at the Bahoshy Softball Complex for a single game at 3 p.m. Hofstra is coming off a series win against Drexel while Fordham has won six-straight contests against Dayton, St. Bonaventure, and Saint Louis.

ABOUT HOFSTRA
Hofstra ranks third in the CAA with a .302 team batting average, led by freshman
Meghan Giordano who is hitting at a .378 clip this season to rank seventh in the conference. Classmate
Kasey Collins (.372) and junior
Kristin Hallam (.371) rank eighth and ninth, respectively. Giordano continues to lead the Pride with 17 extra-base hits, including nine home runs, and 39 RBI. Hallam has been the main beneficiary of Giordano's hot bat, scoring 38 runs to lead Hofstra while also swiping 23 bases, 27th-best in the country this season.
Defensively Hofstra ranks second in the country in double-plays per game, doubling up opponents 0.79 times per game. The Pride have been solid in the field, compiling a .962 fielding percentage to rank second in the CAA.
In the circle, freshman
Madison Burns leads Hofstra with a 3.69 ERA and 11 victories. Burns won her last two decisions, going the distance twice against Drexel last weekend.
ABOUT FORDHAM
This week, Kylie Michael was named the A10 Player of the Week, after pacing the Rams with a .668 batting average, .722 on base percentage and 1.375 slugging percentage in a 5-0 week. In addition, she hit three home runs and tallied 12 RBI, going 11-for-16 at the dish.
Overall, Maria Trivelpiece leads the team in batting average, as she is hitting .371 this year with a team-high 43 hits. Molly Roark who provides the most power in the lineup, paces the squad and ranks fourth in the A10 with 32 total RBI and is second on the league in home runs with 12.
Madie Aughinbaugh is Fordham's ace, as she has compiled an 11-8 record this year, with those 11 wins ranking second in the A10. She has an ERA of 3.68 through 127.1 innings pitched, tallying 89 strikeouts which is second in the conference. Makenzie McGrath has also seen 21 appearances in the circle this season, pitching 50.1 innings with a 6.62 ERA.

Hofstra will play in a key Colonial Athletic Association series against Towson on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21. The doubleheader will take place on Saturday, April 20 at 4 p.m. and the single game will follow on Sunday at 12 p.m.
