Little Silver, NJ – The Hofstra University Women's Tennis team posted a dominating 7-0 victory over Monmouth Sunday night at the Little Silver Tennis Club. Hofstra won each match including all six singles flights in straight sets.
Hofstra moved to 11-7 on the year with its second straight win. The Hawks slipped to 2-12 on the season.
Sarah Catherine Herndon and
Jasmine King started thing off with a 6-0 win over Nicole Gasser and Alexandra Graff at No. 2 doubles.
Alejandra Ruffini and
Katherine Kachkarov followed with a 6-2 victory at No. 1 over Sophia Fredriksson and Maria Ivanova to clinch the doubles point.
Odessa Stork and
Ronia Dolabany completed the doubles sweep at No. 3 with a 7-5 win against Chinonye Gabriel and Caroline Mattise.
The Pride kept rolling through singles as Kachkarov started with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 over Graff. Ruffini followed with a 6-1, 6-1, win against Gasser at No. 1. Mandisa Walle clinched the match for the Pride at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Sydney Denardo.
Stork,
Ana Canahuate-Torres and Herndon closed out the match with victories at the No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6 flights, respectively.
Hofstra will be back in action Wednesday (April 3) at Wagner. Match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
