Philadelphia, PA - Jun Sasagawa and Ostap Kovalenko each lost their ITA Northeast Regional Qualifying matches Thursday at the University of Pennsylvania.

Sasagawa lost a hard-fought three-set match against Thomas Lake of Army West Point. The Pride freshman won the first set, 6-2, but dropped the second set 4-7 and then lost 8-10 in the decisive third set. Kovalenko lost in straight sets, 6-4 and 6-4, to Army West Point's Diego Huttepain. 

Hofstra will be in action Friday at the ITA Northeast Regional with Shawn Jackson competing in the main singles draw and Sasagawa and Giacomo Pezzoli in the doubles draw.
