Buffalo, NY – The Pride won four matches but the Bulls grabbed the other six including a forfeit at 133 as Hofstra fell to Buffalo, 25-12 in a non-conference match at the Alumni Arena Sunday afternoon.

Holden Heller and
Trey Rogers each posted victories for Hofstra as the Pride slipped to 1-4 on the season. The Bulls of Buffalo improved to 7-3 with their fourth win in the last five matches.
The Bulls jumped out to a 9-0 lead after two matches on a decision at 125 and a forfeit at 133. But the Pride closed the gap to 9-6 with a 4-1 win by Lambert (6-7) over John Arceri at 141 and a 10-3 win by
Holden Heller over Jason Estevez at 149. Heller (2-2) was making his official 2018-19 debut. Buffalo recorded consecutive tech falls at 157 and 165 to boost their lead to 19-6.
Ricky Stamm (8-7), who was wrestling up a class, defeated UB's Noah Grover at 174 and
Trey Rogers (9-11) edged Logan Rill, 5-4 at 184 to close the deficit to 19-12. But Hofstra couldn't get any closer as the Pride dropped matches at 197 and 285 to move the final score to 25-12.
Hofstra returns to action next Sunday, January 13 when the Pride head south for two EIWA matches, facing American University in Washington, DC at noon before heading north to Annapolis, Maryland to face the Midshipmen of Navy at 5 p.m.
