Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Pride Wrestling team captured six of the 10 matches-all six decisions-but Bucknell recorded four bonus point victories including two wins by fall, a forfeit and a major decision as the Bison defeated the Pride in an Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association contest, 22-18 at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex Saturday night.

Hofstra slipped to 4-9 on the season with their second straight loss, and 0-3 in the EIWA. Bucknell improved to 5-6 on the year and 3-3 in the EIWA.

The Pride got off to a great start in the match, winning the first four matches to take a 12-0 lead after freshman Holden Heller's 10-3 victory over Bucknell's Matt Kolonia at 149. But the Bison recorded back-to-back falls at 157 and 165 and then was given a forfeit win at 174 to take an 18-12 advantage.

Hofstra freshman Trey Rogers brought the Pride back to within three at 18-15 with a 5-3 win over Jacob Ferreira at 184. But Bucknell's Drew Phipps posted the Bison's fourth bonus point win of the night with an 11-3 major decision over Pride senior Nezar Haddad at 197 to give the visitors a 22-15 lead. Hofstra junior Omar Haddad closed the contest with a 4-2 decision over Eric Chakonis but it was too little, too late as the Pride succumbed, 22-18.

Hofstra will begin a six-match road swing beginning next Saturday, February 2 when the Pride wrestle at EIWA-foes Columbia at noon and at Franklin and Marshall at 7 p.m.

- The Pride have one home match remaining this season and that is against George Mason on Friday, February 22 at 7 p.m. It is Hofstra's annual Senior Night recognition contest.
- Freshman Dylan Ryder recorded his 19^th victory of the year against just nine losses.
- Freshman Holden Heller has recorded five consecutive victories.
