Charleston, SC – Pride freshman Dylan Ryder continued his winning ways with two victories as Hofstra split two matches at The Citadel's McAlister Field House Saturday afternoon. Hofstra defeated the host Bulldogs of The Citadel in their second match of the day, 26-11 after dropping the opener to the Huskies of Northern Illinois, 33-7.

In the Pride's victory over the host Bulldogs of The Citadel, the Pride won seven of the 10 weight classes to win for the second time this season. Starting at 165, the Bulldogs won the first match before Hofstra sophomore Ricky Stamm (10-9) posted a win by decision at 174, and freshman Trey Rogers (10-14) posted a 12-3 major decision over Martin Duane at 184 for a 7-3 lead. After The Citadel closed the gap to 7-6 with a win at 197, the Pride's Omar Haddad (5-10) started a streak of five consecutive wins, including a win by fall by Ryder (15-9) over William Jacobs at 125 and an 11-0 major decision win by sophomore Garrett Lambert (7-10) at 141, to win the match going away. The pin was Ryder's fourth win by fall of the season

In the first match of the day for the Pride, the Huskies of Northern Illinois jumped out to 15-0 lead after three matches with two wins by fall and one by decision. Nezar Haddad (8-8) posted one of two Hofstra wins in the match with a 3-1 decision at 197 and Ryder recorded his fourth major decision win at 125 to close the deficit to 18-7. But that would be the Pride's last win against Northern Illinois as the Huskies went on to win 33-7.

Hofstra will return to action on Sunday when the Pride wrap-up their eight-match road trip with two matches at Lexington High School in Lexington, South Carolina. Hofstra will face Davidson at 1 p.m. before taking on Gardner-Webb at 2:30 p.m.
