Orlando, FL/Daytona Beach, FL - The Hofstra Women's tennis team dropped a pair of 6-1 decisions to Towson and Bethune-Cookman Wednesday. The losses drop Hofstra's record to 6-9 on the season.
The Pride opened the day with a CAA match against Towson at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
Sarah Catherine Herndon provided Hofstra with its lone win on the day, a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Barbora Vasilkova at No. 4 singles. The Tigers (5-6) won the other five singles flights and took all three doubles flights as well.
In the afternoon match at Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, the Pride lost all five contested singles matches and both doubles matches. Hofstra's lone point came on a default win by
Ronia Dolabany at No. 6 singles.
Hofstra returns to action Tuesday at Loyola (MD). Match time in Baltimore is set for 3 p.m.
