WTEN: Hofstra Falls At Penn

Box Score Philadelphia, PA - Hofstra dropped a 6-1 decision to the University of Pennsylvania Sunday night at the Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Center. The loss evened Hofstra record at 3-3, while Penn improved to 5-4.

The Quakers took the doubles point with wins at the first and second flights. Penn followed that up by taking all five contested singles flights. The Pride's Odessa Stork picked up the win by default at No. 6. Alejandra Ruffini put forth a great effort in her third flight singles match against Jimena Rodriguez-Benito. After dropping the first set, 6-1, the Hofstra freshman picked up a 6-4 win in the second and then battled in an epic 14-12 third set loss.

Hofstra is back in action today (Monday, Feb. 19) at Saint Peter's.
