Wilmington, N.C. – Hofstra Softball will take its first conference road trip of the season, heading to first-place UNCW for a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series. The weekend begins with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will close with a single game at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The Pride (15-17, 4-4 CAA) went 1-1 in midweek games, falling, 4-3, in a tough battle with Seton Hall on Tuesday before cruising to a 4-1 win over LIU Brooklyn at home on Wednesday. Junior
Brittany Allocca homered in both games and has hit a home run in four of her past five contests to tie for the team lead with six long balls on the season.

Courtney Scarpato hit her first career home run against the Pirates on Tuesday, and senior
Lacey Clark added her fifth of the season Wednesday night against the Blackbirds. Hofstra has hit multiple home runs in five straight contests and has gone yard at least once in 10 of its past 11 games, hitting 18 homers over that span.
UNCW (28-7-1, 8-1 CAA) has cruised to first place in the conference with series sweeps of Drexel and Charleston, with the Seahawks only league blemish coming in a one-run loss at Elon. UNCW's 1.99 team ERA ranks second in the conference behind James Madison, with Peyton Jordan leading the staff with a 13-2 record and 1.13 ERA, striking out 94 in 130.0 innings pitched. Sarah Davis has been successful in the circle as well, posting a 12-3 record and 2.62 ERA in 82.2 innings pitched.
The Seahawks pitchers have gotten help from their offense, with five players batting over .300. Kali Jones leads the way with a .370 average. Rachel Willis, who touts a .359 average behind Jones, has a team-best 26 RBIs, while Merritt Wilkinson is first with six home runs.
The Pride owns a 34-4 advantage in the all-time series, winning 17 of the past 18 meetings after splitting a pair of games last season.
Hofstra will return home for a midweek matchup with local nonconference rival Stony Brook at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Bill Edwards Stadium.
