Alejandra Ruffini and junior
Disha Yellayi each won singles flight titles as play concluded at the 2017 Hofstra Pride Invitational Sunday.
Ruffini won the "B" singles title with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Fordham's Maia Balce. Ruffini advanced to the finals earlier in the day with a 6-3, 6-1 win over LIU Brooklyn's Clemence Krug.
Yellayi won the "C" singles bracket over Fordham's Whitney Weisberg, 6-1 and 6-1. Yellayi had reached the finals via a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Marist's Amy Galloway.
The Pride also had
Meheq Khokhar reach the semifinals of "C" singles and
Michal Kaplan in "A" singles, while the doubles team of
Sarah Catherine Herndon and Yellayi were semifinalists at "B" doubles.
Hofstra returns to action Monday, October 9, when it hosts Fordham at 3 p.m.
