The illustrious collegiate career of Hofstra Women's Soccer star
Leah Galton came to a close in amazing fashion in 2015. As a senior, the forward from Harrogate, England was named to the NSCAA All-America second team in 2015 and earned her third consecutive Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year award, scoring 12 goals, dishing six assists and posting 30 points. She is the only three-time winner in CAA history.
Galton, who was also a four-time NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic first-team selection, wrapped up her brilliant four-year Hofstra career by recording a program-record 122 points and tying for the all-time lead in assists with 26. Her 48 career goals is the second-most in program history.
While Galton's collegiate career came to an end, her playing days did not. In January 2016, Galton was drafted by Sky Blue FC with the third pick in the second round-13th overall-of the National Women's Soccer League college draft. Sky Blue FC is a member of the National Women's Soccer League, which was established in 2012 and is the top league for women's players in the United States.
