Hempstead, NY - The Fairleigh Dickinson women's tennis team won all three doubles and all six singles matches en route to a 7-0 win over Hofstra Wednesday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center
Hofstra fell to 6-11 with the loss, while FDU improved to 12-5 with its seventh consecutive win.
The Knights swept through doubles with Anna Rapoport and Irina Dementyeva defeating Elena Ivanova and Brooke Sailer, 8-4, at the first flight. Julia Prantl and Gabriela Sarrate had an 8-3 win against Bianca Derrick and Sonia Tsay at No. 2 doubles. Elmine Botes and Manuela Leme posted an 8-4 win over Paige Polizois and Malissa Gilanchi.
FDU continued its strong play in singles, winning three of the five completed matches in straight sets. Ivanova and Sailer had the only set wins of the day for the Pride, while Polizois retired due to injury in her No. 6 singles match.
Hofstra, which was playing its final home match, is back in action at Army on Tuesday, April 10.
