Hofstra freshman Preston Edmead had a stellar game for the Pride in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with 24 points to lead the way. Edmead played all 40 minutes in the contest and also contributed four rebounds and four assists. He also set a program-record with six three-pointers in an NCAA Tournament game. The previous record was four by Rick Apodaca in 2001 and Norman Richardson in 2000. Edmead's 24 points were the most by a Hofstra player in an NCAA Tournament game since Rich Laurel's 35 against Notre Dame in 1977. He is one of five freshman in CAA history to score 20+ points in an NCAA Tournament game and the first since Andrew Nation (JMU) in 2013 (24 vs. Indiana).
