Thomas broke her own program record in the women's shot put event at St. John's Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational in Staten Island, New York, recording a throw of 11.00m to best her 9.77m record that was set last season at the Vassar Spring Invite. She came in 12th place out of the 25-competitor field with her 11.00m mark.
