It was another outstanding week for Hofstra redshirt sophomore Nikki Mennella as she starred offensively in leading Hofstra to a 1-1 week, including a rout of Wagner and a narrow loss to Rutgers.
For the week, Mennella totaled 15 points on eight goals and seven assists, while also adding nine draw controls and a ground ball.Â
On Tuesday it was a career performance in a career filled with them as she poured in a career-high 10 points on a career-high six goals and four assists. She also added five draw controls in the game. In addition, she became the 22nd member of the 100-Point Club at Hofstra in the process. The 10 points are the third-most by an NCAA Division I player this season and the most by a CAA player this year. In fact, Mennella has the top three single-game point totals this season in the CAA.Â
On Saturday she had another strong performance with a game-high five points on two goals and three assists, while also contributing four draw controls.Â
She now has five hat tricks this season and has tallied five or more points in five of the six games she has played in this year.Â
